Yaaaaaay! | | 3:37 pm |
Even this looks better than the Bratz movie Although I would question why the Chipmunks have become hoody thugs? | | 3:27 pm |
Could this be the worst idea for a film ever?
Very possibly. "Show some Bratitude!" is certainly the worst line ever.
Interestingly, the trailer seems to show the entire plot of the film in under 3 minutes. Do you think they'll be able to pad out the other 86 mins? | | Tuesday, July 17th, 2007 | | 4:43 pm |
Wahey! Back from Belgium, where I've been at Dour Festival for the last nearly a week. T'was absolutament fantastique! (that's authentic French) The one thing I will say about the festival is that it's very, very poorly organised. Me and Mark arrived on the Wednesday at about 3pm and made our way towards the campsite, only to find that they weren't opening it. We waited in the same spot for 3 and a half hours, with all our camping stuff, all the time with more and more people turning up, forming a huge crowd of people getting progressively angry and impatient. Eventually, they opened up the first camping area, and we grabbed a spot as quickly as possible, only to be bullied over onto a bit of lumpy, horrible ground by a large group of quite rude Belgians. As soon as our tent was up, I hit the hay and had a 15 hour sleep - although I was woken up a few times during the night by drunken, French shoutiness and general tomfoolery. The next day, Mark's friend Ben and his fellow campers arrived, so we hitched up our gear and re-camped with them - and hooray for that, cos they were dead lovely people, and from then on in it was good times a go-go! We stocked up on a couple of boxes of cheap Aussie wine (and 'enjoyed' a cheeky can of FinkBrau) and the spirits were lifed - hoorah! Here be pics... Mark is ready to rawk as Thursday music kicks off! The Year of No Light - thems was rubs! http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v108/86/122/273101888/n273101888_1164920_6351.jpgThe Skatellites were really good, and there was much dancing to be enjoyed by all! I'd never heard of Bonobo before, but they were some really good trip hop peoples, and I enjoyed them muchly Wu Tang!!! Some people got very excited by the Wu, and felt they had to climb up this speaker tower The Cinematic Orchestra were good, but a bit too laid back for me, so I headed off to find something a bit more bangin' like, yeah. KID606 was just the bangin' choon meister I was looking for, and his set was A C E The next day, it pissed it down, and as you can see from this picture of George, it was very muddy. La DK Danse were really, really good, and I got my dance on Sounds Like Violence were dead good, and rocked the shizzle up, yah! Oo-ooh! Sean Lennon! Only saw a couple of songs sadly, but he was dead good? Herman Dune were ok, but they were not amazing really. Prefer them on record, I think. As you can see, the sun came out in the afternoon, and it got hot, hot, hot for the rest of the weekend (I was one sweaty monkey) Hot Chip were dead good! The Rapture were amazing! Never been that into them to be perfectly honest, but after seeing them play, I'm well on the Rapture bandwagon. The guitarist also made the very insightful observation that the festival smelt like "shit and vinegar". One person did not agree however, and in fact seemed to take offense, replying loudly "you smell of shit!" I missed most of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's set, which I really regret now, cos I really like them and what I did see was really good. Ah, well! A rotating flaming thingy! Bright Eyes's stage set. Mmm, flowery. I actually liked Bright Eyes a lot, they were really good. Think what you will of that. Yeah! This blogs really huge, so sorry about that. I'll leave it for now and do the next two days later. Byeeeeee! xx | | Sunday, June 24th, 2007 | | 6:31 pm |
Ooh, that's nice! By some weird fluke, I've managed to win myself some Bailrigg FM DJ Awards. The ceremony thingy was last night, and I wasn't really expecting to win anything, but I got Best Newcomer, Best Specialist Show and, amazingly, Best Male DJ. Don't know how that happened, I talk a right load of old shite most of the time!
Still, I'm well chuffed and extremely flattered and all that. Lots of people there said I should go in for the SRAs, and I think I just might. It's all given me a real confidence boost, and made me feel like maybe I really could do this after all. Which would be nice.
In other news, I'm off to a lovely French restaurant tonight. It's called 'Simply French'. What an imaginative name. | | Friday, June 22nd, 2007 | | 3:02 pm |
Dead late, but... Here's me tracklisting from last week. Bit too much of a similar sort of thing in my opinion, but I'll try and get a bit more of a mix tomorrow.

Reasons to Procrastinate Oh god, I feel so ill. My stomach is cramping up and doing flips, it's horrible. Plus both my legs are aching and horrible. Still, it's my fault I suppose for mixing so many drinks. But it was worth it, I had a good night, and I haven't been out properly and had a good time for ages.
Think I'm going to cook myself a massive fry-up to make myself feel better, and spend the rest of the day drinking tea. I should do some revision for my exam next wednesday really, but I don't think I'd take much in today.
In Smooth news, I managed to miss an exam last week, how clever is that? Thought it was last Wednesday, but got a call two days earlier saying the exam was on at that very moment and that I wasn't there. Got to come all the way back up to Lancaster in August now to do a resit (or technically, just a sit). Oh well, tum-ti-tum. | | Saturday, June 9th, 2007 | | 6:22 pm |

Wahey! It's a lovely sunny day again, but there are drunks outside my window. Bloody drunks!! | | Friday, June 8th, 2007 | | 4:04 am |
INITIAL! This note was left on my drunken, sleeping face last summer. On a night out with a few of my mates, I had got to be that kind of drunk where you become miserable and find everything depressing and everyone bad company. I had arranged to stay at one of the guys' houses (a man we shall call Mr F), so I decided that, as I was having such a bad time, I would head back alone. So, without telling anyone, I left the club and headed off on the trek across town. It was raining pretty hard, so I put my hood up. On arriving back at the house, I tried to get in at the back door, but found it to be locked. Rather than give up on getting in, I rattled the handle loudly for some minutes and pulled on the door. Seeing as I was getting nowhere, I lent back against a wall and felt sorry for myself. Suddenly, Mr F's dad appeared, topless and tensed. He had apparently thought that I was a hooded thief attempting to break in. However, on realising it was me, he let me into the garage to sleep on a garden chair. Some hours later, and unbeknown to me, Mr F returned, angry and vengeful, and after watching me sleep for a good twenty minutes, building his rage, found the inspiration for the note above. My favourite touches are the bits he's tried to emphasise with squiggles and insane circling, and his failed attempt to write "initially". | | Sunday, June 3rd, 2007 | | 1:51 am |
Oh dear Found this on Graham Linehan's blog, and it made me want to chuck up my balls.

I woke up this morning to find a very angry wasp in my room, buzzing around angrily behind my curtains. At first, I'd thought the noise was just in my dream (I was attacked by a large and very aggressive Daddy Long-Legs while looking over plans for a new hospital) but eventually I awoke and realised that the danger...was real!! It was a big wasp too. I think that if it had come down to a fight, I probably would have come out the winner in the end, but I really didn't want it to go that far. After heroically calling on my mum to waft the monster back out the window with a book, I relaxed back into bed and listened to some music. When Johnny Cash's cover of 'We'll Meet Again' came on, it reminded me of this VE Day party we had at primary school, when I was 8 years old. We had to come dressed in costumes of the war period, so I came as some sort of soldier, with a hat made from paper that my dad had folded to make it look like the one this fellow's sporting: Nice, I know. Anyways, as we moved from our classrooms to the playground to sit and celebrate the war finally being over by eating budget price biscuits and drinking squash, an alpha-dog student from another class, with a hat far superior to my own (a very proper looking Military Police helmet), loudly berated my own paper hat, to what seemed at the time to be a very large group of people's amusement. Feeling dejected and unauthentic in my head-wear, I sat down silently and cried my tears into a pink wafer. A lot of people didn't like me at primary school, and I have no idea why. It was all the people that had never spoken to me that seemed to really dislike me as well. What were they basing their judgements on? I still don't know to this day. Another example of this apparantly inate hatred for me came in my last year at the school, when I was queuing for lunch. One of my friends came over and asked the girl behind me if it was alright for him to join the que in front of her, so we could have a conversation while we waited. She looked at him and then sneered at me and said "Well, I'd rather stand next to you than him!" Yeah? Well, fuck you, bitch. I hope you choked on your cake and custard.
